     Nancy Donaldson is the daughter of Otis Leon Donaldson and Maxine Hill. She married James Hooten after 1961.

     Burgess E. Donelson was born in May 1879. He married Ida Dorn, daughter of John Melvin Dorn and Talvy Ann McCreless, on 4 June 1905 at Mitchell County, Texas.

     Maggie Donnelly married Rodney Kent Allison, son of Ozro Allison and Vaurine Dorothy Milliken, on 3 July 1973 at Big Spring, Howard County, Texas.¹

     Addie Loree Dorn is the daughter of James Wright Dorn and Virtae Viola McGuire. She married Charles M. Mann Jr. circa 1926.

      Arthur Ansley Dorn also went by the name of Bud. He was born on 27 October 1874 at Mount Hilliard, Bullock County, Alabama.¹ He was the son of John Melvin Dorn and Talvy Ann McCreless.¹ He married Jessie Jo McGuire on 22 January 1896 at Texas. He died on 2 June 1931 at McAllen, Hidalgo County, Texas, at age 56.

     Billie Lee Dorn was born on 16 May 1930 at Mitchell County, Texas. She was the daughter of Reverend Clarence Calvin Dorn and Erlene McCullogh. She married Eugene Van Wood on 17 July 1948 at Big Spring, Howard County, Texas. She died before 2003.

     Catherine Ann Dorn is the daughter of Reverend Clarence Calvin Dorn and Erlene McCullogh.

      Reverend Clarence Calvin Dorn also went by the name of Buck. He was born on 6 July 1912 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas. He was the son of Melvin Pierce Dorn Sr. and Katherine Witt. He married Erlene McCullogh, daughter of John McCullogh and Sina Ann Unknown, on 14 September 1929 at Mitchell County, Texas. He died on 9 June 1971 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas, at age 58.

     Clarence Calvin Dorn Jr. was born on 31 January 1943 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas. He was the son of Reverend Clarence Calvin Dorn and Erlene McCullogh. He died on 7 March 1943 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas. He was buried after 8 March 1943 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas.

     Edna Christine Dorn was born on 11 August 1914 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas. She was the daughter of Melvin Pierce Dorn Sr. and Katherine Witt. She married Homer Ray Bell on 24 October 1931 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas. She died on 24 May 2007 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas, at age 92.

     Emma Dorn was born on 4 October 1886 at Mount Hilliard, Bullock County, Alabama, (Ida's twin). She was the daughter of John Melvin Dorn and Talvy Ann McCreless.¹ She married William Ernest Thrailkill on 12 August 1920 at Mitchell County, Texas. She died on 24 July 1968 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas, at age 81.

     Emma Lucille Dorn was born on 25 August 1918 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas. She was the daughter of Melvin Pierce Dorn Sr. and Katherine Witt. She married James Lester Jarratt, son of Lester Lee Jarratt and Maye Reeder, on 8 December 1946. She died on 14 January 1995 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas, at age 76.

     Franklin Pickett Dorn was born in May 1859 at Edgefield County, South Carolina.¹ He was the son of Wright Peter Dorn and Sarah Sallie Ouzts.¹

     Hannah Pauline Dorn was born on 13 October 1873 at Mount Hilliard, Bullock County, Alabama.¹ She was the daughter of John Melvin Dorn and Talvy Ann McCreless.¹ She married Thomas Joshua Coffee on 18 August 1895 at Loraine, Mitchell County, Texas. She died on 19 March 1969 at Loraine, Mitchell County, Texas, at age 95. She was buried on 21 March 1969 at Loraine, Mitchell County, Texas.

Donelson on 4 June 1905 at Mitchell County, Texas. She died on 13 April 1958 at Mitchell County, Texas, at age 71.

He died on 10 August 1968 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas, at age 89. He was buried on 11 August 1968 at Mitchell County, Texas.

They had 11 children in AL. The family moved to Falls County TX in 1886 then on to Colorado TX on November 18, 1890. There he with neighbors, Boswell, Green, and Richardson, built a church meeting and school house, later known as Dorn Chapel. This county was later named Mitchell County and many descendants are from Colorado City TX.

ORAL FAMILY TRADITION:
John Melvin Dorn lived on a plantation owned by his father in South Carolina. His father went away to the Civil War (Confederate army, of course), and John Melvin (age 15) wanted to go, too, but his father insisted he stay and take care of the plantation and the family. When word came that the Union Army was on its way through, John Melvin's mother had him take the slaves and hide in the fields until the soldiers left. The soldiers took food and anything else they wanted from the plantation. Later, when the Civil War was over, the slaves were told they were free to go, but they chose to stay with the Dorn family.
John Melvin's grandfather had been a wealthy man in Germany until a war there wiped out his fortune (when the Mark became worthless).
When John Melvin married and had his own family, he decided to move to Texas, so he hired two railroad cars and put the livestock in one car and the family and household goods in the other and headed for Texas on Nov. 1, 1890.
The area in Texas where the Dorns settled (in Mitchell County, near Colorado City) became known as the Dorn Community. There was a Dorn School and the Dorn Church. The church, still in existence, bears a historical marker with dates and information.³ He was born on 24 August 1850 at Mount Hilliard, Alabama, (alternate date and location - 13 Feb. 1849, Edgefield, SC). He was the son of Wright Peter Dorn and Sarah Sallie Ouzts.^1,2 He married Talvy Ann McCreless, daughter of John Milton McCreless and Hannah Moore, after 1869. He died on 14 April 1937 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas, at age 86.¹

      Lois Delilah Dorn also went by the name of Lila. She was born on 18 October 1884 at Mount Hilliard, Bullock County, Alabama. She was the daughter of John Melvin Dorn and Talvy Ann McCreless.¹ She married James Lorenzo Dow on 1 May 1904 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas. She died on 14 June 1967 at Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, at age 82. She was buried on 16 June 1967 at Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.
