     Mary I. Gideon was born on 23 October 1921 at Bozeman, Gallatin County, Montana.1 She was the daughter of Charles Gideon and Loretta Unknown.1 She married Anthony J. Opstedal on 9 November 1941 at Seattle, King County, Washington.2 She died on 18 May 2006 at Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, at age 84.1 Mary I. Opstedal, a resident of Albuquerque for 52 years, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2006. Mary was born October 23, 1921 to Charles and Loretta Gideon in Bozeman, MT. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Anthony M. Opstedal. She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony J. Opstedal of Albuquerque; daughters, Mary Lee Brians and husband, Donald D. of Albuquerque, Theresa Joyce Lyons and husband, Steve of Iowa, Frances Irene Christianson of Iowa, and Barbara Ann Goddard of Albuquerque; son, Joseph W. Opstedal and wife, Noemi of Mexico; sisters, Leetta Funk of Washington and Betty Decker of Washington; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mary was a member of Shrine of St. Bernadette Church. A visitation will be held Monday, May 22, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary with a Rosary to follow. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at Shrine of St. Bernadette Church with interment to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to any Catholic Charity of your choice. Services are under the care and direction of: Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. 505-842-8800.1
