Mrs. Rees was born May 2, 1922 in Ira to Russell and Laura Richardson Milliken and had been a resident of Mitchell County since 1936. She married Choppy Rees on April 26, 1941 in Westbrook. She was a homemaker and a member of the Westbrook Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Charle Louis "Choppy" Rees of Westbrook; a daughter, Glenda "Sis" Currie of Henderson; two sons, "Dink" Rees and "Jug" Rees, both of Colorado City; two sisters, Vaurine Smith of Big Spring and Vera Lee Hunter of Marble Falls; two brothers, Russell Milliken of Burnett and Bill Milliken of Coahoma; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.2

Vaurine Smith, 83, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, August 28, 2004, in an Odessa care facility. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 30, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
She was born on October 2, 1920, in Ira, Texas.
Vaurine married Ozro Allison on November 18, 1939 in Colorado City and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1971. She then married Alvin Smith on October 23, 1976 and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1989.
Vaurine was a member of the Retired Senior Citizens, Chamber Tourist Center, and was an active volunteer in the Kentwood Community Center, where she was a member of the gospel singing group. She had been a legislative reporter for the AARP for a number of years.
Vaurine had worked at Craigs Grocery Store in Forsan and then in the cafeterias in the Coahoma schools. She was a member of Coahoma United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons Preston Duane Allison of Austin and Rodney Allison of El Paso; one sister, Vera Lee Hunter of Marble Falls; two brothers, Russell Milliken of Florence and Bill Milliken of Coahoma; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

27, 2012. She was born September 23, 1926 in Lamesa, Texas (Higanbotham
Community) to Russell Franklin Milliken, Sr and Laura Edna (Richardson)
Milliken.

Vera married Kenneth Dee Hunter on January 12, 1946 in Dallas, Texas, then
followed him to several positions over the country during his 42 year career
with General Electric Company.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers. She
is survived by her husband Kenneth, son Keith Dee Hunter of Indianapolis,
Indiana, daughter Karen Lee Kuhns of Lexington, South Carolina and several
grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland, Texas at
2:00 PM Thursday, January 3, 2013.

NUCKOLS, Virginia Milliken Age 89 of Joelton, TN. August 19, 2009. Preceded in death by husband of 61 years, Earl Wendell Nuckols. Born December 17, 1919 in Smiths Grove, KY to the late William Dewitt and Winifred Clark Ellis Milliken. Survived by three children, Mary Lynn Nuckols Chattin and her husband, Sam S. Chattin of Lexington, IN, Allyson Nuckols Griffin of Joelton, TN and Kenneth Wendell Nuckols and his wife, Teresa Poirrier Nuckols of Joelton, TN; brother, William Dewitt Milliken, Jr. and his wife, Gloria Pace Milliken of Clarksville, TN; five grandchildren, Teale Robey Chattin, Marc Ryan Chattin and his wife Shandy Chattin, Mandi Leigh Chattin, Daniel Ray Nuckols and Derek Earl Nuckols. After her marriage to Mr. Nuckols, they moved to Nashville, TN. For the last 35 years, they resided in Joelton, TN. Mrs. Nuckols will be dearly missed by family and friends. "Gone from us, but never forgotten." She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A Celebration of her life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Forest Lawn Chapel. William "Bill" DeWitt Milliken, Jr., 90, of Clarksville, TN, died on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center. He was born on April 18, 1922 in Smiths Grove, Kentucky to the late William DeWitt Milliken, Sr. and Winifred Ellis Milliken. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Milliken Page and Virginia Milliken Nuckols.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Skip Armistead officiating. Burial will be in Belmont Cemetery in Allensville, KY. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. and Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Bill was an U.S. Air Corp Veteran, having served in WWII. He was a retired locksmith at Ft. Campbell, KY. He was a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church, Warioto Audubon Society, American Birding Association, and Tennessee Ornithological Society.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Pace Milliken of Clarksville, TN; William DeWitt Milliken, III of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Elaine Milliken Foust of Clarksville, TN; and four grandchildren, Glenn Foust, J.D. Milliken, Megan Woods, and Rachel Milliken.
